The Footlights, or to give them their full (and, let's be honest here, rather dull) name, The Cambridge University Footlights Dramatic Club, is the most famous student comedy club in the world. Footlights is the comedy club at Cambridge University, England; and it consistently turns out some of the best comedians (and actors) in Britain and the world. Former members include: Peter Cook, Emma Thompson, John Cleese, Douglas Adams and Stephen Fry.

In 1997-98, I was Secretary on the Footlights Committee.

Cambridge Footlights Alumni Association

I'm one of the people behind the setting up of the alumni association for the Club. We had our inaugural dinner recently and it was great to see so many people I know and was able to get to know; many people I admire and respect.

The alumni association has been set up to provide support and advice to the Club, and to maintain a sense of continuity and belonging among its alumni.

If you were in Footlights and you've not heard from the alumni association, hop along to the Footlights Alumni website and drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you.

Harry Porter

A tribute to Footlights' longest-serving and sorely-missed officer. If you don't know who he was, read this.

If you did know, or know of, Harry, you might be interested to read this account of The Harry Porter Tribute Evening.

Shows

Some thoughts on Footlights shows I've been to.

Plus thoughts on the London run of Diagnosis, with contemporary Footlights stars Simon Bird and Nick Mohammed.
